A few practical notes to help you arrive prepared and comfortable under the night sky.
Do I need astronomy experience to attend?
No prior experience is required. We explain each session clearly, share sky orientation tips, and help new members get comfortable with observations.
What should I bring to a meetup?
Bring warm layers, a red-light flashlight if you have one, and water. Binoculars are useful but optional, and we usually have shared equipment on site.
What happens if weather conditions are poor?
If clouds or safety conditions prevent observing, we post an update before start time and may shift to a short indoor sky talk or reschedule.
How are meetup dates and location updates announced?
We publish schedules and any changes on the Meetups page first, then mirror key reminders in regular club notes.
Are complete beginners really welcome?
Yes. New observers are a core part of the club, and every meetup includes guidance so first-time attendees can follow along confidently.
A volunteer astronomy community built around shared observation and calm learning.
Moonbeam Astronomy Club is run by local volunteers who document night-sky sessions, maintain practical guides, and host open meetups focused on clear, trustworthy observing habits. We keep things simple: prepare together, observe carefully, and share what we learn after each skywatch.
We welcome beginners, longtime stargazers, families, and curious neighbors who want a respectful place to explore the night sky.
